Farewell from Ulrich Eberhardt

Looking back on his career

After 40 years of loyal service to motan, Ulrich Eberhardt went into well-deserved retirement at the end of March. Starting as an intern before becomig Head of Controlling and later group-wide Managing Director of the motan group – a look back at his career shows that he is a person with a knack for numbers who has helped shape the development of motan throughout the last decades.

During his studies, Ulrich Eberhardt was an intern for the company. He officially started his career with motan on April 2nd, 1979. Today he can not only look back at a diverse career, but can also say with pride that motan has developed into a large and flourishing company under his leadership.

He did not keep his first position as an assistant in the Commercial department for long, and after three years he changed to Controlling with management responsibility. In 1986, and at the age of 32, the company promoted him to Managing Director for the areas Production and Finances.

Many changes were to follow in the next years during which he helped develop the motan group to a global player. The restructuring and founding of motan holding in Konstanz was an important decision in this process. In 1990 Eberhardt took on responsibility for Sales Europe and expanded his knowledge of the markets and motan products. As a head of sales and advisor for the Fakuma exhibition he built an expansive network in the plastics industry.

»Ulrich Eberhardt, an incredible expert with numbers«

At the turn of the century, Eberhardt and his colleagues in the USA and Asia were able to achieve a turnover of approx. 70 million Euro for the motan group. In 2006 he became Group Managing Director and with the purchase of the company colortronic, he laid the foundation for additional growth and development of the company. From then on, he focused on the production and development of group-wide Controlling. Eberhardt will remain part of motan as a shareholder of motan holding gmbh.

»With a lot of knowledge, expertise and passion, Ulrich Eberhardt has, over the last decades, expanded the motan group and made it what it is today. In the last 15 years I have known him as an incredible expert with numbers and a specialist of corporate organization. I want to thank him for his huge efforts and for being an excellent mentor.«

mo explains: " Injection molding produces sprues that can immediately be turned into regrind and reused. This makes sense because it saves money and protects the environment. If the initial material needs to be dried it can save even more money as regrind does not usually need to be dried if it is being reused immediately.
