Inauguration of motan-colortronic in Mexico

On 19th May, the new motan site in Querétaro, Mexico was officially inaugurated

Already one year ago, motan holding gmbh established a new subsidiary in the TLC industrial park of the municipality of El Marqués in Querétaro, Mexico. Now the official inauguration ceremony took place, which was attended by motan group’s CEO Sandra Füllsack and the head of the German-Mexican Chamber of Foreign Trade for the Bajío region, Thomas Meller.

motan-colortronic offers a wide range of services in Mexico, these include: the sale of products and systems, spare parts supply and repairs, maintenance contracts, installation and setup, telephone support, and service coordination. Thanks to the new location, we can now offer a flexible and fast service to our customers all over the country.

The Managing Director of motan-colortronic in Mexico, Frank Medgyesy, explained that the decision to settle in Querétaro was based on the positive growth of the company, a solid customer portfolio and the forecast of future projects.

Moreover, the State Governor, Mauricio Kuri described the benefits that Querétano offers, these being; an environment that is forward thinking, a skilled and stable work force, great security, a growing infrastructure, and a region with one of the most important plastics industry clusters in the country. He further emphasized that the city offers probably the best resource a company can have: The talents of its people, who always add value with hard work, ideas, and creativity.

Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero, head of the Ministry of Sustainable Development (SEDESU), also presented Querétaro as an ideal location for motan to serve its customers throughout Mexico and to continue growth in the country. In the Competitiveness Index 2022 of the Mexican Institute of Competitiveness (IMCO), Querétaro was ranked as the fourth most competitive state in the country, which further underlines this statement.

The plastics sector in Mexico is booming: In 2021, with 29.821 billion pesos, the state’s plastics and rubber industry was the fifth largest manufacturing sector. In addition, for the period from January to February 2022, 5.679 billion pesos were produced – 23.4% more compared to the same period in 2021.

During the opening of this important subsidiary, the Governor Mauricio Kuri, Sandra Füllsack and Thomas Meller were guided with the guests through the facilities, followed by a ceremonial cutting of the inauguration ribbon. The event was rounded off with a celebratory meal.

According to the governor, this reopening has supported motan’s economic upswing and once again confirmed its position in the market.

We wish our colleagues in Querétaro all the best and look forward to a good partnership!
