In early 2018, West planned a new project in India for injection moulded parts. West is always focused on producing clean, sterile, high-quality components which minimise supply chain disruptions. The high priority goal is to bring a safe and effective drug product to the market and to the patient quickly and efficiently. West wanted their new project to be fully automated and equipped with high-end state-of-the-art technology. After technical evaluation and discussion, West found that motan-colortronic’s product specifications and technical expertise matches their quality standards and believed that motan-colortronic could also meet their customers’ high expectations.
West’s technical team visited motan-colortronic’s Chennai factory to see the products first-hand before finalising the project. The team was very happy with the live performance and high quality of the products and decided to finalise the project. In early 2019, motan-colortronic received its first order from West. Their entire automated raw materials gravimetric dosing and conveying system was equipped with motan-colortronic products in West’s factory located in Sri City, (about 100 km from Chennai). The wide range of products in use include, among others, METRO G hopper loaders with glass hoppers mounted on GRAVICOLOR 30 gravimetric gain-in-weight dosing & mixing units with 4.3 kW side channel blower stations and a METROnet AE centralised conveying control with graphic touchscreen. This installation was for 5 machines in the 1st phase of the project.
West was very happy with the product and service quality and has recently ordered a gravimetric dosing & mixing and conveying system for their expansion, again with motan-colortronic.

After experiencing motan-colortronic’s products first-hand – which exceeded expectations; West asked motan-colortronic to provide a solution which was not part of motan-colortronic’s standard product line. West required a conveying system which could convey their final product, post–moulding. After technical consultations, motan-colortronic provided a customised solution for this requirement.
